Welcome-
If you’ve ever stared at an empty console table and wondered how to make it look styled (but not cluttered)… you’re not alone!
The good news? You don’t need a lot of decor or a big budget to create a beautiful, pulled-together look.
In this post, I’m sharing simple console table styling ideas using warm neutrals, natural textures, and a few easy layering techniques you can use in your own home.

1- Start with a Large Anchor Piece
Every well-styled console table starts with a focal point.
In this space, I used oversized artwork to anchor the entire look. Large wall art helps fill vertical space and instantly makes the area feel more intentional and complete.
TIP- Go bigger than you think. Small decor can feel cluttered, but one large piece keeps things clean and elevated.
2-Add Height with Vases or Greenery
To balance the large artwork, I layered in taller decor pieces like vases and greenery.
This adds movement and keeps the styling from feeling flat.
TIP- Use a mix of heights (tall, medium, low) to create a natural, styled look.
3-Use Groups of 3 for Easy Styling
Grouping smaller items together is one of the easist ways to style a console table.
Here, I used a simple trio of small plants to add texture without overwhelming the space.
TIP- Stick to odd numbers (like 3) — it always looks more natural.
4- Mix Natural Textures for Warmth
One of the biggest things that makes a space feel cozy is texture.
In this set up I mixed:
- Wood
- Woven Baskets
- Ceramic Pieces
- Greenery
This keeps everything neutral but still interesting.
5- Don’t Forget Functional Storage
Style is important. But so is function!
Using baskets underneath the console table adds hidden storage while still keeping the look clean and organized.
Perfect for-
- Blankets
- Shoes
- Everyday Clutter

6- Try a Moody Version for a Different Look
If you prefer a deeper, cozier feel, you can take the same styling principles and apply them to a darker piece of furniture.
Using warm wood tones, muted colors and soft decor creates a more moody look while still feeling elevated.

7- These Same Styling Rules Work Anywhere
The same ideas used for a console table can also be used on-
- Dining buffets
- Sideboard
- Entry tables
It is all about layering, balance and keeping your color palette consistent.
Styling a console table doesn’t have to be complicated.
Final Thoughts-
When you focus on a few simple principles — like using larger anchor pieces, layering textures, and keeping your color palette cohesive — you can create a space that feels both beautiful and effortless.
Start simple, use what you already have, and build from there.
